Rough cut for ScreenFlow

AgenticCutter cuts your recording from the transcript: silence, pauses and filler words go out, you approve every cut, and a finished render lands on your drive. You pull that into ScreenFlow and start at the polish instead of the busywork. Your footage stays on your Mac.

How it goes

  1. Hand over the recording

Drag the raw file into the macOS app, or drive the cutter from Claude Code or Codex. Transcription runs locally with mlx-whisper, your footage is never uploaded.

  2. Approve the cut

The cutter marks silence, pauses and filler words in the transcript and shows you every cut as text. Cut aggressiveness has four levels. Nothing renders before you approve it.

  3. Carry on in ScreenFlow

The export runs locally with ffmpeg as mp4 or ProRes. You import that file into ScreenFlow and drop it on the timeline. Subtitles sit next to it as an SRT or VTT file, timed to the finished cut.

What does not work here

Honestly: there is no round trip. AgenticCutter writes no ScreenFlow project file, it renders a finished video. Your cut decisions therefore arrive in ScreenFlow as one track, not as individual clips with edit points you can pull apart again. For a rough cut that you then grade, title and layer with B-roll, that is enough. If you want to nudge every single edit point inside ScreenFlow, this is not the route today: timeline interchange formats are not part of the feature set.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get a ScreenFlow project file?

No. AgenticCutter exports finished video as mp4 or ProRes, plus subtitles as SRT or VTT. There is no project interchange format for ScreenFlow today, and it is not among the available features.

Which export format should I use for ScreenFlow?

ProRes if grading or effects still follow: that is the format ScreenFlow handles most comfortably. mp4 is enough when the rough cut is nearly done and you only add titles and music.

Do I still need ScreenFlow at all?

Depends on what comes after the rough cut. The cutter takes silence, pauses and filler words off your hands and renders directly. Grading, graphics, multitrack audio and B-roll you keep doing in ScreenFlow: that is what it is for, and AgenticCutter does not replace it.
